Global Canine Forum

Join the international Canine (K-9) and Customs community in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 7–9 September 2026 for a global forum dedicated to the development of service dog training and modern border security practices.

The Global Canine Forum (K-9) will bring together Customs administrations, border and law enforcement agencies, experts and partners to exchange experience, demonstrate operational capabilities and discuss the future of canine services in border management. The forum is organized with the participation of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will serve as a platform for professional dialogue, practical demonstrations and international cooperation in the field of service dog training.

The forum will explore how canine units contribute to detecting illicit goods, combating transnational crime and strengthening border control while facilitating legitimate trade and travel. Each day of the forum will highlight key aspects of modern canine operations.

Sessions will focus on operational practices, training methodologies and the integration of modern technologies in canine services. Through expert discussions, practical demonstrations and knowledge sharing, the forum will highlight how well-trained service dogs and professional handlers remain one of the most effective tools for detecting narcotics, weapons, explosives, wildlife trafficking and other illegal activities.
